Catch Up Premium
Academic Year 2020-2021
Our school catch up priority was used to narrow the gaps left by any missed learning in T4-T6. As a school we had already started to invest in assessment methods to support in quicker diagnosis assessment so that our Teachers could focus on quality first teaching. We had also adapted our mastery approach in Mathematics in order to address whole class progress. So, as a result of these changes used the majority of our catch up funding to provide 1:1 or small group sessions in order to help pupils catch up missed learning
The overall aims of our catch-up premium strategy are:
- To raise the attainment of all pupils to close the gap created by COVID-19 school closures
- To ensure that children are not disadvantaged by any further disruptions to learning.
- To provide facilities for families that make the return to school accessible
Evidence used to support the areas of focus are:
- Internal assessment and reporting software (STAR, Writing moderation and Can Do)
- Evidence from the EEF families of schools database
- Results of SLT and MLT staff consultation
- Analysis of attendance records
